Cocoa & Connection Pop-Up

Join the Spark Kindness Team on Saturday, 9/27 from 9-11am for Cocoa & Connection as we pop-up at the Farmer's Market on the Natick Common! This special Belonging Event is in celebration with Good Neighbor Day, statewide initiative in Massachusetts promoting community connections and combating social isolation by encouraging neighbors and community members to get to know one another through acts of kindness and local events.

Whether you come with friends, family, a neighbor or colleague or on your own, you’ll be met with friendly faces and a space where everyone belongs. We look forward to seeing you!

In a time of isolation, division, and disconnection, Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day reminds us that each of us can help build a more connected and compassionate community — one neighbor, one gathering, one simple act at a time. And let’s not forget those who face barriers and generally cannot connect in traditional ways.

What is Good Neighbor Day?

Governor Healey officially proclaimed September 28, 2024 as Massachusetts Good Neighbor Day, in which more than 30 organizations joined in the inaugural celebration, holding Good Neighbor Day events and highlighting the power of connection, kindness, and community. This year, the celebration is being extended for a full weekend from September 26th-28th. The goal of Good Neighbor Day is to foster connected, caring communities where no one feels invisible or left out in the neighborhood they call home. The day aims to:

  • Celebrate the power of neighborliness
  • Promote social connection and address loneliness
  • Inspire collective actions
  • Encourage intergenerational engagement
  • Establish a state-wide tradition of every day being Good Neighbor Day
