Caught Being Kind: Celebrating Everyday Heroes in Our Community

Recognize kindness in action! New community campaign acknowledges those ‘Caught Being Kind’—running Oct 15 to Nov 15.

By Spark Kindness Team

Why Kindness, Why Now?

In a current world that often feels fast-paced and disconnected, everyday acts of kindness are more important than ever.

This fall, Spark Kindness is launching a new initiative to spotlight everyday acts of care and humanity that make our community in Natick and MetroWest stronger. Together we can ensure those small but powerful moments don’t go unnoticed.

The “Caught Being Kind” campaign, running from October 15 through November 15, invites community members to recognize and celebrate acts of kindness—whether it’s a student helping a classmate, a neighbor offering support, or a stranger’s simple gesture that made someone’s day. There truly is no act that is too small.

Kindness is all around us—but in today’s world, it’s easy to overlook.

— Elizabeth Nolan Greer, Director of Team Engagement, Culture, and Strategy for Spark Kindness

A Wave of Kindness, One Story at a Time

Here’s how it works:

  • Spot kindness – Big or small, every act counts.
  • Share it – Fill out a short form on Spark’s website to tell us what happened. A quick note is all it takes.
  • Celebrate it – The act will appear on Spark’s Virtual Community Kindness Wall, and the person you nominate will receive a “Caught Being Kind” postcard—either from Spark directly or one you pick up and deliver from a participating local business.

And if you don’t know the person’s name? No problem. Spark Kindness will still share the story on the virtual Community Kindness Wall to keep the spirit of recognition alive.

Local participating businesses will have postcards available for pick-up after October 15th:

100 Acts of Kindness by November 8

As part of the campaign, Spark Kindness has set an ambitious community goal to capture 100 acts of kindness by November 8, the kickoff of the 8th Annual Kindness Week. Kindness Week is a week-long celebration full of events, service opportunities, and programs aimed at celebrating and strengthening community connection.

Each shared story builds momentum toward this goal and helps create a wave of positivity across neighborhoods, schools, businesses, organizations and beyond.
