Belonging in Action: How to Talk About Equity, Inclusion, and Justice
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Note: Registration is for all 3 sessions - January 23, January 30, and February 6 at 7pm on Zoom. Limited to 30 registrants.
In an age of polarization, how do we talk to one another so we can build a more inclusive world for everyone? Join Spark for a free 3 part program series based on the acclaimed book, “Say the Right Thing: How to Talk About Identity, Diversity, and Justice” by Kenji Yoshino and David Glasgow.
The program will offer practical ways to move from good intentions to taking concrete action to be a better ally, friend, co-worker, and community member. It will also offer plenty of room for growth, grace, and space to make mistakes and learn.
Each session in the 3 part program will feature:
- An overview of the tools to practice courageous and inclusive conversations.
- A case study to discuss and analyze.
- Opportunities to practice in a supportive environment and have your questions answered.
- A supportive learning environment that is about growth (and making mistakes as we learn).
Space is limited to 30 in this free program and participants will be asked to complete a brief questionnaire so that the program is suited to their needs. Please contact info@sparkkindness.org for more information.
Program co-facilitators are Lynn Canty, Belonging Equity and Community Coordinator for Spark Kindness, Christine Guthery, Founder and Executive Director of Spark Kindness, and Elvis Ayesiga, Programming Coordinator for Spark Kindness.
